The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Atlanta Braves by the score of 8-1 on Thursday afternoon as the Brewers were going for the three game sweep against the Braves. The sweep wasn’t meant to be, but as a Brewers fans, you should be happy that the Brew Crew have won three of their last four games.

Starting pitcher Seth McClung got roughed up in the game for eight hits and fur runs while only pitching 4 2/3 innings. McClung had control issues as he walked six batters and also gave up a three run home run to Mark Teixeira.

Newely acquired relief pitcher Julian Tavarez gave up two runs in the ninth inning. That sure isn’t how he wanted to pitch after just signing with the Brewers.

Russell Branyan provided the one run for the Brewers that came in the fifth inning. Branyan took Jorge Campillo deep in the fifth inning for a solo home run. You only have to look at one thing in the stats to see why the Brewers lost the game. That is 12 strickouts. Rickie Weeks and Mike Cameron at the top of the order both struckout three times while Prince Fielder struckout twice.
