The Milwaukee Brewers are still undefeated in the 2008 season as they defeated the Chicago Cubs by the score of 8-2 on Wednesday. Good pitching and great hitting by the Brewers have got them off to a good start in 2008.
The Brewers clubbed out 14 hits and eight runs against the Cubs. Rickie Weeks led off the ballgame with a homerun off of Ted Lilly and that was just the beginning for the Brewers. Ryan Braun and Jason Kendall both had three hits each. Kendall had two RBI’s who was making his return to Wrigley Field where he played part of last season. Other players with one RBI were Weeks, Gabe Kapler, Braun, and Corey Hart.
Jeff Suppan pitched 6.2 innings giving up six hits, and two earned runs. Both earned runs came on solo homeruns. I don’t mind solo shots, they are alot better then those two and three run homeruns!
The Brewers will be going for the sweep on Thursday. I like their chances as Ryan Dempster will be the starter for the Cubs.
