The Brewers should find out Friday how long they’ll be missing center fielder Carlos Gomez.
Gomez, who injured his left shoulder Wednesday night escaping a rundown, will have an MRI on Friday in Phoenix to determine the extent of the injury. Gomez was not in the lineup Thursday night for the series finale in Los Angeles.
Gomez, who missed two games in San Diego last weekend because of tendinitis in his left knee, was injured sliding head first into second base during a rundown play in the eighth inning the previous evening. He was safe on the play but immediately signaled he was injured and came out of the game in the ninth.
Gomez also banged up his right wrist on the crash-and-burn slide, but that problem was not considered serious.
