The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Atlanta Braves by the score of 8-1 on Thursday afternoon as the Brewers were going for the three game sweep against the Braves.  The sweep wasn’t meant to be, but as a Brewers fans, you should be happy that the Brew Crew have won three of their last four games.

Starting pitcher Seth McClung got roughed up in the game for eight hits and fur runs while only pitching 4 2/3 innings.  McClung had control issues as he walked six batters and also gave up a three run home run to Mark Teixeira.

Newely acquired relief pitcher Julian Tavarez gave up two runs in the ninth inning.  That sure isn’t how he wanted to pitch after just signing with the Brewers.

Russell Branyan provided the one run for the Brewers that came in the fifth inning.  Branyan took Jorge Campillo deep in the fifth inning for a solo home run.  You only have to look at one thing in the stats to see why the Brewers lost the game.  That is 12 strickouts. Rickie Weeks and Mike Cameron at the top of the order both struckout three times while Prince Fielder struckout twice.

Rickie Weeks went 2-4 and had a huge rbi triple in the eighth inning to score J.J. Hardy as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Atlanta Braves.  The Brewers only had three hits in the game and Weeks had two of them so they are very lucky to come away with the win.

Weeks was the main guy at the plate for the Brewers like we already mentioned.  He had two of the Brewers three hits.  The other player to record a hit in the game was Bill Hall.

Jeff Suppan tossed eight innings while only giving up four hits.  Suppan improved to 3-4 on the season with the win.  Salomon Torres pitched the ninth inning to record his fourth save of the season.

The Milwaukee Brewers were doubled up on the scoreboard Thursday night as the Florida Marlins beat them 8-4.  The Brewers actually outhit the Brewers 14 to 13 but the Pirates pushed across more runs in the game.

Dave Bush dropped another game this year and is now 1-5 on the season.  Bush pitched five innings and allowed nine hits and six runs in the game.  Just another terrible performance for Bush.  Mark DiFelice pitched a scoreless sixth inning before Zach Jackson pitched two innings and gave up four hits and two runs.

Corey Hart and Rickie Weeks both hit solo home runs for the Brewers.  It’s too bad they were both solo shots because the Brewers could have really used some more runs.  Gabe Kapler and Joe Dillon both had one rbi to go along with Hart’s and Week’s rbi’s.

The Milwaukee Brewers were able to stop their five game loosing streak with a 7-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night.  The Brewers used five runs in the final three innings of the game to blow the game wide open.

Mike Cameron and Corey Hart both hit home runs for the Brewers.  Cameron and Jason Kendall both had two rbi in the game to lead the Brewers in that category.  Ryan Braun, Bill Hall, and Hart all had one rbi in the game as well for the Brewers.

Manny Parra pitched 5 2/3 innings to get the win and is now 2-2 on the season.  Parra gave up four hits but no runs in this five plus innings of action.  Seth McClung and Guillermo Mota pitched the next 2 1/3 innings before Eric Gagne came in and gave up two runs.  Yeah, once again Gagne sucked it up…

Lets see if the Brewers can get on a nice roll after snapping their losing streak.  Brewers Blog

The Milwaukee Brewers had a bad inning in the seventh inning where the Los Angeles Dodgers hit three home runs and scored six runs to come back and beat the Brewers 7-2.  It was a bad loss for the Brewers because the Cubs continue to win at the top of the division.

Ben Sheets took the loss as he pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up nine hits and six runs.  Sheets was cruising along until the seventh inning when everything came undone and he gave up three home runs and six runs.  Sheets is now 4-1 on the season.

Mitch Stetter gave up one run in relief as well for the Brewers.

Ryan Braun fresh off signing a new eight year contract had the only rbi for the Brewers.  Braun had a solo home run in the eighth inning.  J.J. Hardy grounded into a double play to score the other Brewers run.

The Brewers need to turn things around if they want to get back into contention.  They can’t keep losing while the Cubs and Cardinals keep on winning.

The Milwaukee Brewers blew another ninth inning lead as the lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4.  The funny thing about this game is that Eric Gagne wasn’t even in the game to blow the lead!  This time it was Guillermo Mota who blew the lead and the game.

Mota gave up three runs in the ninth inning to take the loss which was his second of the season.  Moto gave up a two run double to Juan Pierre and then a rbi to Andruw Jones on a ground out to shortstop.  Manny Parra was in line to pick up the win before Moto blew the save.  Parra tossed 6 2/3 innings as he gave up three runs in the no decision.

Parra even led the Bewers with two rbi in the game.  Jason Kendall and Corey Hart also had one rbi in the game for the Brewers.

With the loss, the Brewers fall four games behind the league leading Chicago Cubs.

The Milwaukee Brewers continue to play some good baseball as they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 on Tuesday night.  With the win, the Brewers are now a game over .500 at 20-19 and three games behind in the division.

Carlos Villanueva improved to 2-4 on the season as he pitched six innings to pick up the win.  Villanueva gave up eight hits and three runs (two runs were earned) in the game.  Eric Gagne got back on track as he picked up the save in the ninth inning.  The save was Gagne’s tenth of the season.

Ryan Braun stayed hot as well as he had two rbi in the game.  Bill Hall had one rbi on a solo hom run as well.  Mike Cameron and Prince Fielder both had a rbi in the game too.

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 8-3 on Monday night to beat the Cardinals three games to one in their four game series.  The Brewers are now 19-19 on the season and four games behind the league leading Chicago Cubs.

Ryan Braun led the Brewers on Monday night with two solo home runs in the game as he finished with two rbi.  Bill Hall also had a solo home run in the game to account for his one rbi.  Corey Hart finished with two rbi as he had a two run single in the third inning.  Mike Cameron also had a rbi ground rule double in the third inning.

Dave Bush finally picked up his first win of the season as he improved to 1-4.  Bush tossed six innings of four hit baseball while only letting one run score.  Eric Gagne pitched two innings of relief after Bush exited the game and he was his normal self as he gave up two walks and let one run score.  Mitch Stetter then walked four batters to let another run score.  So the Brewers bullpen really didn’t pitch well, it was a good thing that Bush only gave up one run before turning the game over to the bullpen.

The Brewers now welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers into town as they will play a three game series.  Brewers Blog

The Milwaukee Brewers were blown out 7-2 on Thursday night by the Florida Marlins.  The Brewers were only able to score runs in the fourth and eighth innings in the game.

Mike Rivera and Carlos Villanueva had one rbi each in the game for the Brewers.  That is not going to get it done against any major league team.  The big guys for the Brewers simply didn’t step up and get the job done.

Carlos Villanueva took the loss as he was roughed up in five innings of action.  Villanueva gave up ten hits and seven runs.  Seth McClung and Mitch Stetter pitched the final three innings without giving up a run.

The Milwaukee Brewers are struggling right now as they lost their fifth straight game.  The Florida Marlins beat the Brewers 6-2 on Wednesday night to sweep the Brewers.  With the loss, the Brewers are 5.5 games out of first place in the division.

Dave Bush dropped to 0-4 on the season as he took the loss for the Brewers.  Bush gave up five hits and six runs in six innings of action against the Marlins.  What hurt Bush was the long ball as he gave up two home runs in the game.

Seth McClung pitched two innings of relief after Bush was taken out of the game and did not allow a run.

Rickie Weeks had both RBI for the Brewers as he hit a two run home run in the sixth inning.  Other then that, the Brewers bats were dead all night long.  They are really going to have to start swinging the bat better before they are ten games out of first place in the division.
