The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds played 10 innings on Tuesday night after Corey Patterson tied the game in the 9th inning with a homerun off of Eric Gagne.  Good thing for the Brewers, Rickie Weeks singled in J.J. Hardy and the Brewers were still able to get the win.

Salomon Torres picked up the win has he pitched a scoreless 10th inning.

Bill Hall and Jason Kendall were the only other Brewers to record an RBI besides Weeks.  They got two runs off rookie Johnny Cueto and that was pretty much all the offense until Weeks singled in the winning run in the 10th inning.

Manny Parra was throwing a no hitter through five innings, but in the sixth inning, that is when the Giants started to come back and made it a close ballgame.  Once the Giants made the score 3-2, Ryan Braun and Gabe Kapler both hit homeruns that extended the lead and the Brewers went onto to win the game by a score of a 5-4.

Mike Rivera also contributed with two RBI’s in the game.

Eric Gagne pitched a perfect ninth inning to pick up his first save of the season.

The game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the SanFrancisco Giants was pretty much over after five innings of play and the Brewers up 8-0.

Bill Hall led the Brewers with two homeruns and a career high six RBI.  Prince Fielder helped out by going 3-4 and three RBI’s, and Gabe Kapler had a pair of RBI.  Great offense spread throughout the lineup today, and if the Brewers continue to do that, they are going to have great success in this season.

Carlos Villanueva picked up the victory after tossing 5.1 innings and striking out a career high six batters.  He pitched pretty good ball up until the 5th inning when the Giants were able to score a couple of runs.

The Brewers are now 3-1 on the season, and looking to make it 4-1 Saturday against the Giants.

The Milwaukee Brewers were hoping to leave Chicago with a three game sweep of the Chicago Cubs but that wasn’t meant to be as they lost on Thursday afternoon by the score of 6-3.

Starting pitcher Dave Bush was in trouble most of the afternoon, and the Cubs finally made a Brewers pitcher pay for their mistakes.  Bush only lasted 5.1 innings giving up six hits, six earned runs, five walks, and four strikeouts.  Definately not the start that he wanted to have.

One thing that really hurt the Brewers today was the Cubs base stealing.  They finally exploited the weakness with Jason Kendall.  I’m surpised they didn’t try stealing 20 bases this series, as they know that Kendall has a terrible arm.  As long as Kendall is the catcher, Brewers fans are going to have to live with the fact that other team will be trying to run on him all the time.

All in all, I’m take a 2-1 series win to start the season.  Against the Cubs and a divsional rival, it is even that much better!

The Milwaukee Brewers are still undefeated in the 2008 season as they defeated the Chicago Cubs by the score of 8-2 on Wednesday.  Good pitching and great hitting by the Brewers have got them off to a good start in 2008.

The Brewers clubbed out 14 hits and eight runs against the Cubs.  Rickie Weeks led off the ballgame with a homerun off of Ted Lilly and that was just the beginning for the Brewers.  Ryan Braun and Jason Kendall both had three hits each.  Kendall had two RBI’s who was making his return to Wrigley Field where he played part of last season.  Other players with one RBI  were Weeks, Gabe Kapler, Braun, and Corey Hart.

Jeff Suppan pitched 6.2 innings giving up six hits, and two earned runs.  Both earned runs came on solo homeruns.  I don’t mind solo shots, they are alot better then those two and three run homeruns!

The Brewers will be going for the sweep on Thursday.  I like their chances as Ryan Dempster will be the starter for the Cubs.
